Confidentiality & mutual NDA
Discretion isn't a bonus here. It's the job. Plenty of the people I work with can't afford for a conversation to get out, so the agreement runs both ways: I'm bound to keep your information private, and you're bound to keep mine. Ask for it and I'll send it over before our first call, signed on my side.
It stands whether or not we end up working together, and it doesn't expire when a conversation goes quiet. If you want your own lawyer's paper instead of mine, send it across and I'll sign that just as happily.
The only exceptions
Standard ones, and I'd rather name them than pretend they don't exist: anything that's already public, anything I already knew before you told me, and anything the law genuinely forces me to hand over. If that last one ever happens, I'll tell you first wherever I'm allowed to.
A mutual NDA is a private agreement between us, not legal advice. For anything with real money or rights attached, have your own lawyer read it before signing. I'd tell you the same about any contract I put in front of you.
What it covers
- Your legal name and identity, if they're separate from your stage name
- Earnings, rates, subscriber counts, and any numbers you share
- Unreleased content, launches, and plans we discuss
- Contracts, brand talks, and who else you're speaking with
- The fact that we're talking at all, if you'd rather that stayed quiet
What I'm bound to
- Never share it with anyone, including anyone I work with, without your written OK
- Never use it for my own benefit or anyone else's, not just never repeat it
- Keep it stored securely, and delete it if you ask me to
- Stay bound to all of this after we stop talking, not only while we're working
